Prime Minister Vladimir Putin discusses spring floods in Russia during a videoconference with Regional Development Minister Viktor Basargin and Acting Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov

The two ministers reported on the measures being taken. The prime minister, in turn, pointed out the need to provide prompt assistance to flood victims, if any.

The acting emergencies minister also reported on measures to fight wildfires. In particular, he said the ministry had minimized the potential for fires at various locations in the Transbaikal Territory by concentrating fire fighting personnel and equipment in high risk areas.
