During his tour of the institute, the Prime Minister visited the situations centre used for remote access classes, the library and the multimedia complex, which provides access to electronic legal resources and library stock.
Dmitry Gazizov, chair of the institute's Department for Administrative Law, told Mr Putin that the situations centre is used for training local police to work with document electronic management systems for improved time management, thus freeing them time to work with the public.
The institute currently has over 800 cadets and trainees and 300 students in the full time programme plus over 1,100 people who study at correspondence courses.
The Barnaul Special Secondary School for Training Interior Ministry Officers, the predecessor of the institute, was established in 1957. In 2011, it received a permanent education license and was accredited by the Lawyers Association.
