Prime Minister Vladimir Putin entered the Megasport sports centre ice rink dressed in a red and blue uniform number 11 with Russia's emblem.
During the practice, Vladimir Putin strictly followed the instructions issued by the coaches, Merited Master of Sports Alexei Gusarov and head coach of the national ice hockey team Zinetula Bilyaletdinov. The prime minister scored several goals.
Merited Masters of Sports Pavel Bure, Vyacheslav Anisin, Vyacheslav Bykov, Vladimir Golikov, Alexander Golikov, Valery Kamensky, and Alexei Kasatonov joined Vladimir Putin on the ice rink. Skating alongside them were Andrei Kovalenko, Alexander Kozhevnikov, Vladimir Krutov, Yury Lebedev, Vladimir Lutchenko, Yury Lyapkin, Sergei Makarov, Vladimir Myshkin, Maxim Sokolov, Viktor Shalimov, Alexander Yakushev, as well as president of the CSKA Hockey Club Vyacheslav Fetisov.
In February 2011, Vladimir Putin promised that he would learn to ice skate and kept his word. In April 2011, he joined one of the first hockey practices for finalists of the Gold Puck children's contest at the Luzhniki sports centre.
