Transcript of the beginning of the meeting:
Vladimir Putin: Good afternoon, Mr Zhirinovsky.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky: Good afternoon, Mr Putin.
On 25 August all the deputies will be in Moscow and we will start work. Now we have the first budget reading. A parliamentary party meeting will be on Tuesday; we are also waiting for the Minister to come.
Vladimir Putin: Is someone from your party taking part?
Vladimir Zhirinovsky: Yes, Mr Rokhmistrov. We collected suggestions from the regions to make our contribution as well. All the suggestions relate to housing, small business, energy projects and construction - everything of public concern in the regions.
We shall discuss this on August 19. We will be working at full pace from August 25. The short vacation has finished - it lasted just a month. We were working up to July 15, and now it's August 15. We will work out all these matters further.
Our deputy is also the Chairman of the CIS Affairs Committee and we also have some questions that need discussing. He is always in contact with our partners. Now, in connection with the latest events, we sent out information letters to give an objective opinion about all that has happened. The amount of information is always huge and there are different opinions, nuances. We also keep our closest partners informed.
