Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed an order establishing a Federal Crisis Centre headed by the Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief to mitigate the effects of an armed conflict in South Ossetia

The Federal Crisis Centre will organize works to eliminate the consequences of the armed conflict in South Ossetia, provide rescue services and ensure priority sustenance of indemnitees.
With the aim of armed conflict response management in South Ossetia, provision of rescue services and priority sustenance of indemnitees the Russian Government has formed the Federal Crisis Centre under the supervision of the Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief, Sergei Shoigu.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed corresponding executive order No. 1129-p on August 11, 2008.
