Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulated fishing industry employees on Fisherman’s Day, their professional holiday
The message said, in part:
«We have always focused on the development of the fishing industry, a major element of the Russian economy that has impressive potential, including for growth. Enhanced national food security, expanded product range, and the preservation and expansion of precious biological resources largely depend on its dynamic development.
The fishing industry is now living through major transformations. Fishing and fish-processing legislation is currently being streamlined; and new production processes are being introduced. All these measures must make the industry more competitive.
I am convinced that Russian fishermen's wonderful working traditions, experience and professionalism will enable them to effectively accomplish their objectives.
