Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a telegram of condolences to the relatives of the People’s Artist of the USSR Nonna Mordyukova, upon her death

The telegram reads, in part:

"The deceased was a great Russian actress, whose name and work are associated with a whole era in the history of the national film industry. The power and magnetism of her talent won the hearts of audiences of all generations, helped her to create unforgettable images of heroines and to be brilliant, sincere and convincing in any role.

"The admirers of her talent, all those who knew and loved that wonderful, generous person will forever remember Nonna Mordyukova."
