During his tour, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited training facilities for wrestlers and boxers and saw computer technology for enhancing sports students' performance.
Laboratory head Dmitry Levchenko discussed his original methods of teaching boxing and wrestling techniques with the prime minister.
Putin was also shown some of the state-of-the-art technology and equipment employed at the university, such as computer software diagnosing athletes' overtraining-related fatigue and a device gauging disabled athletes' performance potential.

The Kuban State University of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism incorporates a college and an Olympic academy oriented towards high-performance sports.
In the past five years, 32 world champions, 23 European and 63 national champions received their degrees at the university. Many of its alumni have advanced into Russian national squads and been awarded top professional ranks.
