Volgograd school students welcomed the prime minister at the open-air museum. Together with them, Vladimir Putin walked along the Lake of Tears and laid a wreath to the Eternal Flame located in the Hall of Soldiers' Glory, the walls of which bear the names of soldiers and officers who fell in the battles at Stalingrad.

Afterwards, Mr Putin ascended to the tomb of Vasily Chuikov, marshal and twice Hero of the Soviet Union, where he talked to veterans of the Great Patriotic War. "I'm very pleased to see both young people and veterans here," the prime minister noted.

After the conversation with the veterans, the prime minister got acquainted with participants of a veteran choir. The choir's new soloist, seven-year old Masha Kramina, was introduced to Vladimir Putin. The prime minister asked the veterans whether the girl indeed sang in their choir. They assured him that she only became the soloist recently and asked her to sing several couplets from the song Great Grandfather, which is dedicated to war veterans, for the Prime Minister to hear.

Together with Masha and other school students Vladimir Putin laid flowers on the tomb of Marshal Chuikov.

Leaving the museum, the prime minister congratulated the veterans and school students on the upcoming Victory Day and posed for a photo with them.
