Prime Minister Vladimir Putin takes part in Russian-Belarusian talks
Vladimir Putin spoke about the consolidation of assets of KamAZ and MAZ, two major car manufacturers. According to him, “the establishment of such a strategic alliance will naturally increase the competitiveness of Belarusian and Russian enterprises and create new stable, high-paying jobs”.

May 6, 1950: Born in Novy Snov village, Nesvizh District, Minsk Region.

1972: Graduated from Brest Construction Engineering Institute specialising in engineering and technologies.

1972-73: Served in the Soviet Army.

1973: Engineer at Vodokanal Bureau; Head of Department and Chief Engineer for the Water Projects' Construction Directorate, Minskvodokanal Production Association.

1977-1983: Chief Engineer and Chief of the Directorate for Public Service Enterprises of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

1983-1985: Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sovietsky District, Minsk; Deputy Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee.

1985: Secretary to the Minsk City Committee of the Communist Party of Belorussia.

1986: Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Belorussian SSR.

1989: Graduated from Minsk Higher Communist Party School. D.Sc. in Economics.

1990: Vice Chairman of the BSSR Council of Ministers; Chairman of the BSSR State Committee for Economy and Planning.

1991: First Deputy Chairman of the BSSR Council of Ministers.

1994-1995: Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus.

1995-2001: Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus.

2001: Chairman of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences' Presidium.

December 28, 2010: Appointed Prime Minister of Belarus.

Married, with two children.
