Both sides noted the importance of the strategic partnership between Russia and India and their commitment to building up bilateral interaction.
Vladimir Putin and Manmohan Singh exchanged opinions on various aspects of the implementation of the ambitious bilateral project, exchange of National Years (Russia Year in India in 2008 and India Year in Russia in 2009).
During the course of the talk a wide range of topics connected with concrete projects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation were discussed.
Vladimir Putin and Manmohan Singh spoke in favour of regular meetings of the Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission.
The Russian Prime Minister expressed hope that the approaching visit to India by the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will give a new substantial impetus to the further strengthening of the Russian-Indian partnership.
