Mr Lebedev informed the prime minister about critical problems related to economic cooperation in the CIS. He said that Russia still plays the leading role in integration efforts, and noted that Russia is popular venue for CIS economic and business forums.
Mr Putin reaffirmed Russia's commitment to expand and improve relations with CIS countries in all spheres, and to seek closer cooperation in EurAsEC and the Customs Union.
The prime minister asked about preparations for the upcoming meetings of the CIS Economic Council and the CIS Council of Heads of State, and stressed the importance of documents like the new Free Trade Zone Treaty, the preliminary draft of the Interstate Programme for Innovation Cooperation in the CIS through 2020, the Framework Programme for Cooperation in the Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy through 2020, and others.
