During his visit to the multifunctional public service centre, Prime Minister Putin stated that the databases of all federal executive bodies should be shared and integrated into the main public portal of government services by the middle of this year. "Data sharing between agencies will simplify access to state services for ordinary people," said the prime minister, adding that "all databases should be integrated into a single whole and shared so that people don't have to rush from one office to another." He emphasised that the public services web portal should be set up properly so that "everybody can easily find information on the portals of related agencies."
Minister of Communications and Mass Media Igor Shchegolev, who accompanied the prime minister on his visit, said that by the end of 2011 all regions will be connected to the government services network, so the portal will include the databases of federal and local executive bodies.
Prime Minister Putin stated that such multifunctional centres should be created in every municipality.
Staff members of the Orenburg centre showed the prime minister how to register a car with the traffic police and pay fines for traffic violations via a terminal in the centre.
They also told the prime minister that people can submit a number of forms to the portal online without having to come into the centre.
During his tour of the centre, Prime Minister Putin also spoke with visitors.
