Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with Governor of Ivanovo Region Mikhail Men
The prime minister and the governor discussed the state of affairs in the textile industry and mechanical engineering, which, according to the governor, were experiencing great revivals. In addition, they touched upon the issues of relocating tenants of dilapidated and hazardous housing as well as unemployment, which has begun to shrink in the region.

Born November 12, 1960 in Semkhoz village of Sergiyev-Posad (Zagorsk) District, Moscow Region.

Education

Graduated from the Moscow State University of Culture and Russian Academy of Civil Service under the President of the Russian Federation.

Experience

1980-1982: served in the Armed Forces.

1983-1991: worked in cultural establishments of Moscow and Moscow Region.

1991-1993: worked in the publishing business.

1993-1995: deputy of the Moscow Regional Duma from the Sergiyev-Posad District of Moscow Region, member of the Committee on Legislation, Power and Local Self-Government.

1995-1999: deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, deputy chairman of the Culture Committee.

1999-2002: deputy governor of Moscow Region, first deputy chairman of the Moscow Region government.

2002-2005: deputy mayor of Moscow in the Moscow government.

November 22, 2005: unanimously approved by the Legislative Assembly of Ivanovo Region as the governor of Ivanovo Region following his nomination by the president of Russia.

December 23, 2005: assumed the office of governor of Ivanovo Region.

October 22, 2010: approved by deputies of the Ivanovo State Duma for the second term as Ivanovo Region governor.
