While visiting the exhibition Golden Autumn at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin looked over the web portal of the Ministry of Agriculture. This web portal provides food product balance sheets, maps of natural resources, reports on losses in crop yields caused by drought and other data. First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov and Minister of Agriculture Yelena Skrynnik commented on this information.
According to the information on the web portal, Russia's grain balance for this year is predicted to total to 61.149 million metric tons. The prime minister asked how much grain had been sold abroad before the export embargo took effect. Mr Zubkov replied that 3.7 million metric tons of grains had been exported. Speaking about the overall amount of grain that Russia will accumulate by the end of this year, Minister Skrynnik said that grain reserves are expected to total some 90 million metric tons. The prime minister was also shown a mobile system that is used to monitor online food prices across the country.
Prime Minister Putin visited Moscow's exhibition stand to see what is being done to ensure food security and how information technology is utilised in agriculture. The prime minister also looked through charts on a computer featuring the performance of Moscow's food market, price dynamics for agricultural production and grains. After viewing this display, the prime minister briefly spoke with acting Mayor of Moscow Vladimir Resin.

They offered him a traditional round loaf of bread and a souvenir book with a bottle of the herbal liquor ‘999' inside. The prime minister broke off a small piece of the bread and tasted it.
At the Rostov Region's stand the prime minister was shown turkey products. Director General of Eurodon, Vadim Vaneyev, told the prime minister that the animals at his farm are raised only on natural feed and that the average weight of a turkey there has reached 16 kilograms.
Krasnodar Region Governor Alexander Tkachev reported on the project to set up agricultural machinery and showed the prime minister a selection of products from the region's wineries.
At Miratorg's stand, its Chairman of the Board Viktor Linnik told the prime minister that his company plans to create the largest livestock factory farm in the Bryansk Region to produce 50,000 tons of beef annually. [The Board of Directors of the Bank for Development has recently approved the allocation of over 18 billion roubles for this project.] Prime Minister Putin spotted Kirov Region Governor Nikita Belykh and asked Mr Linnik if his company would develop production in the Kirov Region. "We are currently discussing this possibility," said Governor Belykh joining in on the conversation.
