While on a working visit to the Ryazan Region, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin helps extinguish forest fires from aboard a Be-200 amphibious aircraft

The prime minister's plane flew from Moscow to the Dyagilevo military air base, not far from Ryazan. Once there, Vladimir Putin boarded a Be-200 amphibious aircraft, which is part of the firefighting air group owned by the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief.

The prime minister took the seat of the copilot and spent half an hour managing the collection of water from the Oka River and dumping it on burning forests near Ryazan. The prime minister was instructed by the ministry's head of aviation Rafail Zakirov, Merited Pilot of Russia.

The plane collected and dumped 12 tonnes of water two times. As a result, two fire hazards were extinguished.

During the flight, Vladimir Putin observed the actions of the other Be-200 plane that was also suppressing fires.

The prime minister thanked the pilots after the flight and then headed to the village of Kriusha, which had seriously suffered from a forest fire in late July.
