While on a working visit to the Tambov Region, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited a community centre in the village of Tulinovka. The centre, inaugurated in 2009, includes a secondary school, the Transformation interregional spiritual and moral education centre, a local history museum, a concert hall and exhibition spaces, a modern library, a media centre, a gym, and a stadium.
Mr Putin examined some information stands featuring various regional development projects. Many of these projects are related to education, among them a project to develop school infrastructure, which includes school meals and transport for schoolchildren in rural areas.
The prime minister then toured the community centre's school, where he was shown primary school classrooms, a computer science class, the gym, and the doctor's office.
This school participates in the Healthy Child programme, which is aimed at promoting the psychological well-being of children under 18. Under this programme, all students undergo special checkups and counselling. Some are sent to health resorts.
All of the region's schools are expected to participate in the Healthy Child programme next year.
