The Russian spiritual and cultural centre will include an Orthodox cathedral, a seminary, a library and facilities for scientific and cultural events.
Russia won the tender to build on this plot of land in spring 2010.
The cultural centre will be built on a 4,000 square metre plot of land on the bank of the Seine River near the Eiffel Tower.
Construction is scheduled to start in early 2013.
