Vladimir Putin first visited a gym where a children's judo club was having a practice session. The young athletes had their pictures taken with the prime minister and presented him with an album containing information about their club. The prime minister wished them luck and then moved on to an adjacent gym, where free-style, Greco-Roman and Kurash wrestling lessons were being held. Vladimir Putin expressed interest in the Kurash wrestling and asked the students to show him a few tricks.
The prime minister then visited a gym where the Tatarstan Judo Student Games among juniors were held, where he took a seat in the bleachers with other audience members and watched the competition for some time.
