During his trip to Alexandra Land island on the Franz Josef Land archipelago Prime Minister Vladimir Putin familiarised himself with the work of a research expedition from the Alexei Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution studying polar bears and worked alongside the biologists to attach a GPS collar on a polar bear caught in a special trap.
