During his visit to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin tours the Krusenstern sailing ship
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez toured the ship in the company of its captain and visited the Krusenstern’s on-board exhibition in honour of the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez toured the Krusenstern, a Russian sailing ship, which was docked in the port of La Guaira, near Caracas.

The ship's crew welcomed the two leaders on board with a traditional Russian naval greeting.

Captain Mikhail Novikov reported to Vladimir Putin that the Krusenstern had successfully completed its international journey and arrived in the port of La Guaira.

Prime Minsiter Putin greeted the crew, to which President Chavez added: "Welcome!"

Mr. Chavez then greeted the sailors with the Russian word for hello, which he had previously learned from the Russian prime minister.

Putin and Chavez also reviewed the vessel's on-board exhibition in honour of the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The captain told the two leaders about the exposition in detail.

Putin and Chavez also visited the ship's museum. Hugo Chavez presented the sailors with a portrait of Admiral Francisco de Miranda.

At the end of the visit, Putin and Chavez recorded entries in the ship's guestbook for distinguished visitors. Putin wrote: "I wish you all success in training Russian sailors. Have a good journey, and safe return home."
