The message reads in part:
"Your renowned theatre is a genuine treasure of Ukrainian culture and rightly has a place of honour among the world's outstanding theatrical troupes. It has a great and glorious history, full of colourful characters and unforgettable premieres. All who have worked there have invariably been exceptionally talented and dedicated to their art, staging plays that enrich the heritage of [Ukrainian] national theatre, and of theatre worldwide.
It is gratifying that you stage both Russian classics and works from contemporary Russian authors and that your theatre regularly tours our country.
All this promotes deepening cultural dialogue between Russia and Ukraine, the mutual enrichment of our cultures and solidarity between our fraternal nations."
