Following a proposal from the Legislative Assembly of the Kamchatka Territory, the Duma of the Chukotka Autonomous Area and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Russian government has decreed an introduction of a tenth time zone in the Kamchatka Territory and the Chukotka Autonomous Area, as of March 28, 2010, at 2 a.m. (local time in the Kamchatka Territory and the Chukotka Autonomous Area).
The governments of the Kamchatka Territory and the Chukotka Autonomous Area are responsible for making the necessary preparations to introduce the tenth time zone in the Kamchatka Territory and the Chukotka Autonomous Area and issuing notice to organisations and the general public, including public service announcements in the media.
