Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends a message of congratulations to the staff, students, graduates and post-graduates at the Moscow Aviation Institute (State Technical University), on the 80th anniversary of its foundation

The message reads, in part:

"Over the years your university has grown to become an authoritative educational and research centre known for its excellent record and strong teaching and academic staff. Its experienced tutors have produced generations of skilled specialists who were able to apply their knowledge in key sectors of the Russian economy and defence industry. The university also should be credited for establishing and promoting the Russian aviation industry and the development of space and rocket equipment.

"Your fruitful educational and research work continues to this very day. Your victory in a competition between university development programmes, for which the Russian government awarded you the title "National Research University", is convincing evidence that the Moscow Aviation Institute is rightly recognised a leader in the training of engineering and research personnel.

"I am confident that you will continue to preserve and build on the splendid traditions of your alma mater and support its prestigious reputation with real successes and achievements."
