Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates the people of the Republic of Ingushetia and its President Yunus-Bek Yevkurov on the 240th anniversary of Ingushetia’s voluntary inclusion in Russia
The message reads in part:
«This event is a milestone in the history of our national development and a turning point in the destiny of the Ingush people. You are rightly proud of the heroic deeds and constructive work of generation after generation of your countrymen. They have made a significant contribution to our rich cultural and spiritual heritage and the preservation of the ancient traditions of Russia's ethnic groups.
«Ingushetia is now faced with extremely serious and demanding tasks, the most important of which are social and economic development, bettering its investment climate, and improving its social infrastructure. And of course, our common task is security, international peace and stability in the republic itself and throughout the North Caucasus.
«I am confident that hard work, love of country, and century-old traditions of mutual respect, neighbourly relations and harmony will help you to meet your goals. You can always count on the support of the entire Russian nation.»
