Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends his condolences on the sad occasion of the passing of test pilot Vladimir Ilyushin

The message of condolence addressed to the employees of the Sukhoi Design Bureau says:

"The long and bright life of test pilot Vladimir Ilyushin, a worthy successor in a famous dynasty, was full of heroic events. He was a top-class pilot and a recognised ace who wrote many wonderful pages in the history of national aviation and who improved the aircraft that made our country famous.

"His family, colleagues and enthusiasts will forever retain the bright memory of this strong and brave man and a real patriot."
