Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on the first anniversary of his enthronement
The congratulation said, in part:
Your first year of serving as the Patriarch was full of labor and care. You have accomplished much in strengthening the unity of the Russian Orthodox Church, in fostering the spiritual rebirth of our Fatherland and the moral recovery of our society.
The dialogue between the Church and the government and public organisations in solving current social problems has expanded and has been filled with new content under your leadership. The prestige of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Moscow Patriarchate is growing both in Russia and outside the country.
Being a good pastor and a wise teacher, you have always preached righteousness and mercy and sincere love and respect for others.
Let me wish Your Holiness strong health and joy, peace and well-being.
