Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends a message of greetings to the Ogonyok magazine’s editorial staff and readers on its 110th anniversary

The message reads, in part:

"Ogonyok is one of the oldest, most popular and most respected periodicals in Russia. Political leadership changes, but you have maintained a staff of talented professionals - reporters, editors, photographers and artists - loyal to the magazine. Many famous poets, writers and journalists began their careers at the magazine, which has always been a centre of the country's social and literary life open to new and progressive ideas. This is why people read it avidly and keep copies for new generations of readers.

"I am confident that the magazine's staff will continue to uphold and elaborate these traditions."
