Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulated the residents of the Orenburg Region on the 265th anniversary of the founding of the Orenburg Guberniya (Province) and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Orenburg Region
The message reads, in part:
"Founded as the south-eastern outpost of the Russian State, rich in natural resources and possessing substantial industrial and intellectual potential, the Orenburg Region contributes significantly to the country's economy and agricultural industry.
"Over the past decades, generations of the region's residents, through their talent and hard work, have developed promising mineral deposits, built towns and villages, and build and improved social infrastructure. The region, which is home to people of many nationalities, is famous for its wonderful traditions of good neighbourly relations, mutual respect, and a truly immense range of distinctive cultures.
"Today, you face the important task of ensuring the continued dynamic development of the region, resolving the vital social and economic problems, and improving the people's standard of living."
