Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the attendees of a meeting devoted to the 220th anniversary of the Tauride Palace

 
 
 

The message reads, in part:

"Talented architect Ivan Starov's creation is rightfully considered an invaluable masterpiece of Russian architecture, a one-of-a-kind monument to the national culture and one of the most vivid and recognisable symbols of St Petersburg. It is associated with critical and unforgettable events in the history of our state, and the names of many of our distinguished compatriots.

"It is gratifying that today the Tauride Palace is true to its historical mission and remains a recognised hub for significant social and international initiatives."
