Prime Minister Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

During the conversation, the two heads of government discussed the current situation and prospects for trade and economic ties in detail. The Prime Ministers noted with satisfaction that despite the current economic crisis, Russian-Vietnamese trade has grown by 5.7% in 2009.
Mr Putin and Mr Nguyen Tan Dung exchanged opinions on possible expansion of interaction in such areas as energy, industry and military-technical cooperation.
Mr Putin invited his Vietnamese counterpart to visit Russia with an official visit, the timeframe of which will be coordinated through diplomatic channels.
