Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulated the faculty, staff, students and graduates of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University) of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the 65th anniversary of its foundation

The message reads, in part:

"Since its foundation, MGIMO has been one of the most prestigious and important Russian universities. This leadership is fully justified since the university trains diplomats to safeguard and promote the state's interests in the international stage, and top professionals are educated here. A constellation of prominent diplomats, politicians, businesspeople, journalists and lawyers have graduated from MGIMO. A MGIMO degree is a secure guarantee of profound and fundamental knowledge, excellent qualifications and practical skills.

"I am confident that the remarkable academic and educational traditions, the combination of classic and contemporary education techniques, as well as the high professional level of the faculty will continue to promote the University's successful development and contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between nations."
