Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulated agricultural workers on their professional holiday, Day of the Agricultural Worker and the Processing Industry Employee, to be celebrated on October 11
The message of congratulations reads, in part:
"The hard, responsible and very important work done by agricultural workers is highly appreciated in Russia. The development of the Russian food market, quality food procurement, and food security largely depend on your initiative and enterprise. All-round support for agriculture and related industries is on the government policy priority list. Russia's rural areas demonstrate tangible success and a strong potential for growth.
"I am confident that the professionalism and experience of agricultural workers and processing industry employees will contribute to the development of the industry, will increase its investment attractiveness and will improve the competitiveness of Russian products."
The message was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov.
