Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a message to delegates and guests of the National Forum of Pensioners and Veterans “For Active Longevity”

The message says, in part:

"It is symbolic that your meeting is taking place when the country is marking the 15th anniversary of establishing the national organisation, the Union of Russian Pensioners. Through these years, the Union has taken an active role in the country's political life. Its achievements and initiatives deserve the highest praise. You staunchly defend the rights and interests of Russian citizens and advocate the creation of a welfare and rule-of-law state.

"I am confident that the forum will be productive, and that its recommendations and decisions will be realised."
