Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a message to the participants and organisers of the 10th All-Russia scientific forum Mother and Child
The message reads, in part:
"Issues related to the improvement of reproductive health and motherhood, and child protection are rightfully among the high-profile priorities of state policy and occupy a leading place in the package of measures aimed at tackling the demographic crisis.
"It is important to note that certain progress has already been made: Many regions of the country are building large perinatal centres and maternity hospitals fitted out with the latest equipment, steadily raising the professional standards of senior and paramedical personnel, and implementing the Birth Certificate programme.
"It is my belief that your forum will provide a good opportunity for a constructive and involved discussion, familiarisation with advanced scientific and applied developments, an exchange of experience, and formulation of interesting and really innovative recommendations that will find a place in practical activities."
