Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to State Duma and Federal Assembly deputy Artur Chilingarov on the occasion of his 70th birthday

The message reads, in part:

"You belong by right to the renowned constellation of real scientists and intrepid explorers - people who are persevering, purposeful and entirely dedicated to their work. In many ways, thanks to your expertise, enthusiasm and truly inexhaustible creative energy, great discoveries were made in the research of the Arctic and Antarctic, and the reclamation of the world's oceans. You have done much for the continued development of these important research and exploration programmes in Russia.

"Your active civil and educational endeavours and many years of fruitful service in the State Duma of the Russian Federation deserve the most sincere respect."
