Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the performers, organizers and guests of the first international Golden Harp competition

The message reads, in part:
"I'm pleased to note that this contest, which has drawn musicians from all over the world, is being hosted by Russia. This country is known for its outstanding musical culture, and, specifically, for one of the world's oldest and most prestigious harp conservatories.
"During the contest, music lovers will be able to hear pieces composed for this unique instrument, and duly appreciate the talent and skill of both seasoned professionals and rising stars.
"I'm convinced that this large-scale, creative project will be a success, that it will develop its own traditions, and that it will promote international humanitarian ties and friendship."
