Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed Government Resolution No. 723 of September 10, 2009 On the Procedure of Putting into Operation Some Government Information Systems", thus approving the Provisions for Federal Government Information System Registration.
This resolution is intended to increase the effectiveness of using the money allocated from the federal budget for the purposes of moving some government activities online. The resolution also aims at reducing the costs of creating and maintaining inefficient and duplicating systems and helping regional and municipal authorities to more effectively perform public administration functions and provide online services to people and organisations.
