Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to participants, organisers and guests of the IV Far Eastern International Economic Forum

The message reads, in part:

"Since it was first held, the Forum has become widely known in this country and abroad as a respected venue for discussing the development problems of the Far East and Siberia. Today the leaders of state agencies, experts and scientists will consider ways to strengthen the economy and social sphere of the Far East and Siberian regions, to ensure an effective use of their rich industrial, natural and academic potential, and to fight the crisis.

"I hope the Forum will pass in a constructive atmosphere and its participants will make a professional assessment to prepare recommendations that will be useful to the people who will put them into practice."
