Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulated the staff of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant on its 75th anniversary
The message reads, in part:
"For decades your plant has played a crucial role in the development of the national aircraft industry. Several generations of scientists, engineers and workers worked selflessly to create advanced aircraft bringing to life unique designs and technological solutions.
"It is encouraging that the Irkut Corporation is developing dynamically, launching major investment projects and retaining its positions on the international aircraft manufacturing market. Your products invariably enjoy demand despite global financial and economic problems.
"I am confident that this situation will not change, including as regards the implementation of the advanced programme of mass production of the new-generation MS-21 passenger plane."
