Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signs an executive order on financial assistance to the families whose relatives have died or are missing and to the people who were injured during the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order No 1228-r on August 22, 2009 for one-time financial assistance to the families whose relatives died or are missing as a result of the August 17, 2009 accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant and to the people who were injured during it.
The Order reads:
1. The government of the Republic of Khakassia is to submit to the Ministry of Finance of Russia the lists of the families whose relatives have died or are missing and of the persons injured during the accident.
2. The Ministry of Finance, acting on the basis of the lists, is to allocate money from the reserve fund of the Russian Government to the government of Khakassia for the following purposes:
- one-time financial assistance to the families whose relatives have died or are missing, and to the people who were injured during the accident in the amount of 1 million roubles per victim;
- one-time financial assistance to the persons injured during the accident in the amount of 100,000 roubles per victim.
3. The government of the Republic of Khakassia is to ensure the payment of one-time financial assistance to the families whose relatives have died or are missing and to the persons injured during the accident.
4. To accept the proposal of the Russian Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development, coordinated with the Russian Social Security Fund, on financing up to 4 million roubles in 2009 on health and recreation vouchers for the families whose relatives have died or are missing as a result of the accident, including vouchers for parents with children, from allocations stipulated in the budget of the Social Security Fund for children's healthcare and for health and recreation vouchers for working Russians.
