Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulated his Hungarian counterpart, Gordon Bajnai, on St. Stephen’s Day, Hungary’s state holiday

 
 
 

The message of congratulations reads, in part:

"It is gratifying to see the high level of Russian-Hungarian relations in politics, the economy, culture, science, technology and other areas. Further strengthening the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation is in the interest of both our nations, which in turn promotes peace and stability in Europe."
