Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a telegram of greetings to the 29th International Congress of Game Biologists

The message reads, in part:

"We are pleased to host this large and authoritative forum. Russia is willing to take part in comprehensive partnerships involving game and hunting studies, or the implementation of joint programmes or projects.

"Wildlife and environmental protection is becoming increasingly topical with every passing day and demands coordinated action by all countries and by civil society in general. The non-rational use of natural resources, including game, threatens to restrict the diversity of Nature.

"Preventing this is a responsibility we all share. I am sure that this Congress will contribute extensively to the solutions of environmental management, and will promote game biologists' cooperation."
