Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a message of congratulations to Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Macedonia’s major national holiday, Day of the Republic

The message read, in part:

"I note with satisfaction that Russian-Macedonian relations are gradually progressing. I put my hope in the mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, the economy, investment, culture and other areas."
