The message reads, in part:
"The domestic fishing industry has impressive technological and industrial resources, and solid human resource potential. It is therefore by right considered one of Russia's key economic industries, the effective operation of which largely determines the successful resolution of major social problems, consolidation of Russia's position in world markets, preservation of domestic food safety, and competent exploitation of Russia's unique biological reserves.
"It is gratifying that the industry's workers are preserving and expanding the remarkable traditions of their predecessors, while striving to achieve the large-scale goals to modernize and technically upgrade this industry and enhance the competitiveness of its product."
