Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a message to Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky, congratulating him on Belarus’ Independence Day

The message reads, in part:

"This year the holiday coincides with the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German invaders. Forged in the course of the Great Patriotic War, the brotherhood of the Russian and Belarusian peoples should continue to guide us in our joint efforts to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in every way and build up the Union State.

"I wish you the best of health and great professional success, and happiness, wellbeing and prosperity to the Belarusian people."
