Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to Mr Madhav Kumar Nepal, on the occasion of his election as Prime Minister of Nepal.
The message reads, in part:
"I would like to stress my commitment to the development of friendly relations between Russia and Nepal, and to the expansion of our joint efforts in ensuring progress and stability throughout Asia.
"I wish you, Mr Prime Minister, success in your role, and I wish peace and prosperity for the people of Nepal."
