The message of congratulations reads, in part:

"You are rightfully considered to be a patriarch of Russian literature, an outstanding representative of the legendary generation of writers who participated in the Great Patriotic War and a unique personality. You are the author of books of various genres, but your books and screenplays on the Great Patriotic War have a special place in your literary legacy. Honest, truthful, stridently sincere, they are still relevant and leave an indelible impression on millions of readers."
