The message read, in part:
"This year we mark a memorable date - the 75th anniversary of Yury Gagarin's birthday, the world's first cosmonaut, whose name is associated with one of the most vivid and glorious pages in this country's history. We are proud to live in the country that launched the manned space flight era. We pay tribute to the feat of the whole generation of scientists, engineers, and designers whose hard work, courage, and ingenuity allowed mankind to make their dream of exploring space come true."
"The rocket and space industry has always been one of the state's major priorities. It concentrates immense intellectual power, as well as research and development resources. The industry's achievements find broad application in various economic areas, contributing to the strengthening of our defense potential, high-tech development, and the implementation of international scientific and research programs. In addition, they certainly boost Russia's authority and competitiveness globally."
