Prime Minister Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Mr Putin congratulated Mr Netanyahu on his prime-ministerial appointment and expressed hope that bilateral relations would continue to develop at their current pace.
The Prime Ministers discussed bilateral projects in the field of trade and economic partnership, and spoke for just and equal settlement of the situation in the Middle East.

Mr Putin thanked Mr Olmert for his teamwork and honourable contributions to the development of Russian-Israeli relations.
He stressed Mr Olmert's promotion of the passing of St Sergius' Metochion in Jerusalem to the Russian Orthodox Church.
